How to Measure Cabinet Doors

Measuring your cabinet openings before ordering and installing your new cabinet doors may at first seem like an impossible task. Fear not. You don’t have to hire a handy man to do your measurements (unless of course you really want to). With a few simple steps, you’ll be ready to order new cabinet doors that will fit your cabinetry perfectly.

Tools Needed:
  1. Measuring tape
  2. Scratch Paper
  3. Pen

Instructions:

Make a chart on your scratch paper, labeling each of your cabinet door openings with a number or letter.

Measure Width and Height of each door, carefully recording each measurement on your chart. Always list width first. Double check your measurements.

Add 1 inch to the height and width of each measurement. This will give you a ½ inch overlay all around the cabinet door.

Double check your work again and you’re ready to order. Done.
